Dynaudio introduced the Audience 40 model to world-wide acclaim in 1999, this model instantly becoming a classic with its incredible price/performance ratio. Accolades included the 1999/2000 EISA "Loudspeaker of the Year" Award, and numerous other "best of" and "product of the year" awards around the globe.
The successor to the model 40 - the Audience 42 - achieved what was considered the impossible in that it offer further improvements over its venerable predecessor. The Dynaudio 15 cm midwoofer and 28 mm soft dome tweeter achieve higher performance due to several improvements in the 42.
The more rigid cabinet of the Audience 42 adds additional resonance damping, while the two-way bass reflex cabinet now employed a new MDF baffle that added further resonance damping as well.
Whether utilized as a compact stereo or mains loudspeaker, a surround channel, or as a dedicated center channel in a home theater setup, the variants of the Audience 42 provide a platform for advanced Dynaudio performance to be enjoyed in virtually any application or budget, with a high level of performance and realistic sound experience as typical of Dynaudio.
