The Incar loudspeaker range was developed in response to the growing demand for high quality sound in the automobile. Dynaudio's advanced home audio drivers had found their way into many car audio installations, as it was felt that these drivers outperformed even the best available 12 volt loudspeaker products at the time.

But as all Dynaudio drivers are application specific, the home audio variants were still less than ideal for the rigours of the car audio environment.
Dynaudio thus concluded that the only way to properly address this market was to develop a range of drivers with parameters specifically designed for and tailored to the car audio environment and the acoustics of such.
