First class audio entertainment is already a Volvo tradition: Not only was Volvo the first car maker ever to implement a Dolby Pro Logic surround system in a car, but it was also the first to ask a loudspeaker specialist to develop a genuine, factory-fitted
High-End Sound System.

In Dynaudio, Volvo found this partner and the resulting 10-speaker Dynaudio Sound System in the 1997 Volvo C70 was soon regarded as one of the finest automotive sound systems ever developed.
As early as 2001, the C70 was awarded the "Best Car Stereo System" accolade by the influential American luxury lifestyle publication "Robb Report" for having the best factory-fitted sound system. The original Volvo S80 limousine followed soon after to bring Dynaudio sound quality to the luxury saloon class for the first time.

In 2006, Volvo released the successor to the C70. Like the car, the new Volvo C70 Premium Sound System surpasses the benchmark set by its predecessor. To set such new standards for the ultimate sound experience, highly advanced Dolby Pro Logic II digital Surround processor technology and unprecedented amplification power of up to 910 Watts total, were mated to the latest generation of Dynaudio loudspeakers.

With the Premium Sound System in the second generation XC90, Dynaudio sound quality comes to the SUV class for the very first time, and in 2007 Volvo is also the very first car company to offer a compact car with a high end sound system: The Volvo C30. The upgraded S40 and V50 models, the all-terrain XC70 and the all-new SUV XC60 followed soon after.
