The "comfort" factors expected at home have now also become more important in the buying considerations of a car. With this in mind, it isn't just the car's interior design that needs to meet these higher standards, the performance capabilities of the vehicle's audio system has increased in importance as well.

These were the goals Volkswagen had in mind when it started with the development of the new Passat a few years ago. Early on in the development stage, the VW engineers turned to Dynaudio for a state-of-the-art audio system to enhance the Passat's comfort experience through superb music reproduction.

With its 10 Dynaudio loudspeakers and advanced digital, powerful amplifier technology, the Passat's sound system was internationally acclaimed as one of the best available sound systems on the market. As a result of this success it was also the beginning of a long-term collaboration between Volkswagen and Dynaudio.

Several other Dynaudio Sound Systems were developed together with Volkswagen: Dynaudio Sound Systems are available for the Eos coupe/cabriolet and for the Touareg, their premium off road model. Future Volkswagen models with Dynaudio Sound System are currently under development.
