In 1989, "The Book of Truth" became a scripture of the Dynaudio philosophy. Readers were enlightened and entertained, learning why other loudspeaker manufacturers would not allow their employees near the assembly line (as there are no workers), but also the best way how to purchase loudspeakers (blindly, by ear).
The "Book" was completed with some advertisements comparing the honesty of Dynaudio's Danish loudspeaker products in a chiding manner through some clever analogies and anecdotes. In Germany, these advertisements ran in the outer market publication "Spiegel", generating awareness to even non hi-fi enthusiasts, while also winning several of the prestigious "Art Director's Club of Germany" advertising awards.
Beginning in the late 1980s, the Dynaudio Contour models were the heart of the company's product offerings:
A broad pallet of compact and floor standing loudspeakers, which featured without exception the most advanced Dynaudio driver technologies and the finest hand-crafted wood cabinets. The secret stars were often the smallest models: intensive tuning and development and consequent improvement of all details spawned the Special One.
Eventually a similar course of events would yield the modern era Contour 1.3 SE as a result - milestones not only in the history of Dynaudio, but also in the history of high-performance compact audiophile loudspeakers.
