Once again, Dynaudio was front and center at the annual HIGH END Show. The Dynaudio approach to one of the most important expos of the audio industry struck a chord with our dealers and customers. Many interesting conversations took place - the HIGH END visitor is now more than ever interested in high quality sound and seeking various solutions. These days, quality awareness is essential for hifi and music lovers. The performance, diversity and design of Dynaudio's products resonated with HIGH END visitors.
This very positive impression fits with the over-all picture of the HIGH END 2009: against all expectations, 248 exhibitors at the HIGH END set a record high for the Show. Competing against perfect weather in Munich as well as a national holiday, the show still drew over 13,700 visitors in 4 days; a good sign in uncertain times.
The Dynaudio exhibition: Relive music - at home
Dynaudio choose a different and until now new concept regarding how to present high end systems at a show. The company consciously abstained from the typical approach in showing every product of the existing product line in a technical display. Dynaudio instead concentrated on 6 specially configured individual systems showcased in high-quality domestic surroundings. The range varied from a small hifi setup up to a true audiophile high end system.
For this approach, Dynaudio cooperated with the well known German interior designer Jürgen Wittek. He designed new hifi furniture especially for Dynaudio. This inviting surrounding attracted many visitors to relax and enjoy the feel of high end audio at its finest.
According to the numerous options for one to enjoy high quality music, Dynaudio presented several individual setups to demonstrate authentic sound quality and stylish integration in a high end living environment. The combination of modern elements and classy furniture created a harmonically unified ensemble and accentuated the elegant style of the Dynaudio speakers themselves. A highlight of this design concept were the newly introduced high gloss black and white finishes of the Excite series and new Focus 110A active monitor.
Dynaudio will also offer the Contour series and the Confidence series models in high gloss white. All the new finishes will be available as of June 15th 2009. The Focus series models on display represented the traditional quality and diversity of Dynaudio's famed real wood veneer finishes.
Music innovation - Dynaudio Focus 110 A combined with an iPod
Probably the smallest true High-End system in the world: a combination of an iPod® with the new active Focus 110 A high-end monitor drew a lot of attention. On the one hand was the stylish stance of these high gloss white finished speakers positioned on the brand new high gloss white Stand³. On the other hand was the unbelievable sound that the Focus 110A provided from only a very simple music source. Visitors were often found looking for a subwoofer as the speakers' performance was simply beyond belief.
High-End Stereo - Dynaudio Focus 360 combined with a classic NAD set up
The Dynaudio Focus 360, the latest and flagship model of the successful Focus series, has already received outstanding reviews all around the world. At the HIGH END show it was presented in a system for the hifi traditionalist. Integrated in a premium living room set up, the Focus 360 demonstrated its quality most impressively.
Premium High-End at the top level of quality and sound: Dynaudio Confidence C1 and NAD Masters
The drawing card of the Dynaudio exhibition was the premium set up: the innovative Confidence C1 (displayed in the new High Gloss Rosewood Lacquer finish), the premium Dynaudio compact loudspeaker, was presented in combination with an NAD Masters system. A special highlight of this set up was the NAD Master M5 CD player modified by Michael Swoboda. The C1 showcased its full range of sound quality. Innumerable visitors and journalists named this sound experience the best of the entire Munich show.
Hifi smart and compact - Dynaudio Sub 250 SAT and Audience 42 SAT
Sound is not a matter of size. Even the smallest system displayed by Dynaudio demonstrated this perfectly. An elegant style and perfect Dynaudio sound were the attributes of the Audience 42 SAT, which was not displayed in its typical manner - on wall - but rather mounted on the Stand1. (A new bracket for a precise fit is available as of now for such stand-mount installation of the Audience 42SAT and Contour SR). The system was completed by the subwoofer Sub 250 SAT, and comprised a stylish, well balanced music hub.
High-End 5.1 home cinema with the Dynaudio Contour
A Dynaudio home cinema setup was demonstrated with the Dynaudio high end Contour series. The result was an awe-inspiring surround sound experience. The Contour S 3.4 floor standing loudspeakers were employed as the front channels of the set up, completed by a Contour SC center, and a pair of Contour S1.4 compact monitors as the surrounds. A Sub 500 subwoofer completed the 5.1 system. This stylish home cinema system was integrated into the largest living area of the Dynaudio exhibition. The modern Contour design with its metal baffle became even more elegant paired with the new high gloss white finish of the loudspeakers.
New Dynaudio accessories
The Dynaudio accessory range was expanded extensively. The highly successful range of loudspeaker stands now includes the new Stand³. Its modern style - accentuated by its dynamic new raked shape and the high gloss black and white finishes perfectly complements Dynaudio's newly-introduced speaker finishes. The new Dynaudio WSB 1 wall-mount speaker bracket offers the option to install compact book shelf speakers - and for the first time even an active monitor. The very solid and multifunctional design is available in high gloss white and matte black. To complete the accessory line and develop it into a full range of solutions, Dynaudio decided to add two articulating TV wall-mount brackets. These perfectly engineered brackets offer the highest quality in material and functionality.
Relaunched at the HIGH END was the technically revised Dynaudio OCOS constant impedance loudspeaker cable, presented in a new design and packaging. This world-wide approved speaker cable will be available in several different levels and specifications. Each and every active loudspeaker (excluding the active Focus 110A of course) in the Dynaudio exhibition at the HIGH END was partnered with OCOS cables to showcase the authentic sound quality of the speakers.
Widespread acceptance
The new display concept was enthusiastically greeted by dealers, professional trade visitors, and HIGH END visitors alike. The audience praised the individual diversity of stereo equipment in price and quality and the enjoyment of music and sound in a relaxed atmosphere - without the timing restrictions of common closed door demonstrations.
The feedback from distributors and dealers was without exception extremely positive: "Very good. This approach in displaying high end in a surrounding of premium furniture, reduced to the essentials is outstanding. In my point of view, the best exhibition of the show."- Andreas Seidl, Klanggalerie; "Lifestyle is the perfect completion for high end. The new glossy lacquer finish displayed in such a modern ambience - its the best way to do it" - Sunil Gopal, Dynaudio Distributor, Dubai; "I like the concept very much…elegant furniture complements the quality of such speakers in a perfect manner." - Hans Jürgen Gerber, Hifi Gerber.
Dynaudio at the High End
Dynaudio was also showcased outside its own exhibition: Electronics specialist Octave presented their high end tube amplifiers with the exclusive Dynaudio Sapphire in their demonstrations at the HIGH END.
Perhaps the most comfortable place to enjoy music was located in the foyer of the main entrance to the HIGH END Show. Together with its partner Volkswagen, Dynaudio presented the premium Phaeton sedan. This vehicle is equipped with the finest automotive sound system Dynaudio is producing: The Dynaudio Temptation Sound System.
